ASSISTANT PROFESSOR COUNSELING QUALITATIVE RESEARCH

About the position

The Assistant Professor of Counseling Qualitative Research at Texas Southern University is a nine-month appointment focused on teaching graduate-level courses, mentoring students in their research, and contributing to curriculum development. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in qualitative research methodologies and a strong record of scholarly publications. This role emphasizes collaboration with faculty and community outreach to enhance the program's reputation.

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate-level courses in counseling
• Supervise and mentor graduate students in their research projects
• Contribute to curriculum development and program evaluation
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities
• Engage in community outreach and professional development
• Conduct rigorous academic research
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Earned doctoral degree in counselor education/counselor education and supervision
• Licensed Professional Counselor
• Certified School Counselor
• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor
• Demonstrated expertise in qualitative research methods
• Strong record of scholarly publications and presentations in qualitative research
• Experience in teaching at the graduate level (preferred)
• Two or more years of postdoctoral research experience (preferred)
