About The Position

This position exists for the purpose of teaching undergraduate level courses in mathematics and assisting the Chair in overseeing the curriculum and adjuncts who teach mathematics. The role includes a full-time teaching load and administrative responsibilities related to the mathematics program.

Requirements

  • A minimum of MA in Mathematics or Education with advanced credits in mathematics; a doctoral degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of higher-educational teaching experience.
  • Ability to teach a wide range of remedial, developmental, and college mathematics courses.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Experience in designing and developing relevant courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate level courses in mathematics.
  • Assist the Chair in overseeing the curriculum and adjunct instructors.
  • Coordinate the development, assessment, and revisions of academic programs and courses.
  • Design and develop new courses to enhance the existing curriculum.
  • Review and revise curricular offerings to meet accreditation and industry standards.
  • Submit annual assessment and program review to the Chair.
  • Hold weekly office hours for student and faculty consultation and support during fall and spring semesters.
  • Attend Chapel and departmental meetings.
  • Participate on assigned faculty committees and ongoing professional development.
  • Determine course placement for incoming students and approve transfer credits.
