About The Position

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is seeking a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Construction Management within the Civil Engineering Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Construction Engineering and Management (CEM), conducting high-quality research, and collaborating with other researchers. The position emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach to research, particularly in areas such as Artificial Intelligence in Construction, Sustainable Construction, and Smart Infrastructure. The role also includes mentoring students and participating in outreach activities.

Requirements

• Earned Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
• Ability to develop and teach courses in CEM.
• Evidence of high-quality research in CEM.
• Potential to attract and maintain externally funded research projects.
• Willingness to collaborate with other researchers.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience developing and teaching courses in CEM.
• Strong record of academic achievements and research publications.
• Evidence of successful research proposals to external funding agencies.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor students.
