About The Position

The Department of Computer Science in the College of Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Education at The University of Tampa invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position for the 2026-27 academic year, beginning in August 2026. The B.S. in Computer Science is a rapidly growing program that welcomed its inaugural class in 2021-22. This position offers an exciting opportunity to help shape the direction of a young and evolving program committed to excellence in undergraduate education. The faculty and administrators in CSSME, along with professional staff across the University, will provide meaningful support for your teaching and scholarship as elements of your personal and career development. Requirements

  • Hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field (ABD considered; however, the terminal degree must be earned by July 2026)
  • Possess a broad background in computer science with the ability to teach across the curriculum
  • Demonstrate potential for outstanding teaching, strong written and oral communication skills, and a commitment to high academic standards
  • Show evidence of an active research agenda, with potential to involve undergraduates
  • Have experience teaching undergraduates (preferred)
  • Exhibit the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Be committed to remaining current in both teaching and scholarship
