The University of North Carolina Wilmington is seeking an Assistant Professor in Computer Science for a tenure-track position starting in August 2025. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in core computer science areas, including platform technologies, cloud computing, human-computer interfaces, and system administration, while also maintaining an active research program and mentoring students.

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science programs.
  • Develop and maintain an active research program.

  • Ph.D. or equivalent research-focused doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related area.
  • At least 18 hours of graduate coursework closely related to the discipline.
  • Candidates who are ABD will be considered if they complete their doctorate before Fall 2025.
  • Research and teaching experience in core computer science, platform technologies, cloud computing, human-computer interfaces, or system administration.
  • Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
