About The Position

This tenure-track position requires teaching Communication Sciences and Disorders courses in areas of interest and expertise, as well as providing clinical education to students in the on-campus Speech and Hearing Center, if a CCC is held beyond the initial professional year. The teaching load will include graduate and undergraduate courses that incorporate clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice and could include areas such as Language and Literacy, Neurogenic, Dysphagia, Motor Speech Disorders, Social/Cognitive Aspects of Communication, Multiculturalism, and/or Audiology. Further responsibilities also include research/scholarship and service to the department and university. The Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) program provides an academic and clinical professional education for students whose primary goal is to serve children and adults who have impairments of communication and swallowing. Our undergraduate program has a proud history of preparing students for graduate programs in SLP and audiology. Our graduate program has been successful at preparing qualified speech-language pathologists. The School of Education, Health and Human Services prepares students for successful entry into their profession. We focus on an ethical approach to human well-being and encourage critical thinking and practical application. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in speech-language pathology or audiology. ABDs will be considered
  • An Audiologist would need to have or be eligible for NYS licensure
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to anti-oppressive practice, diversity, equity, and inclusion
