The Department of Psychology at Stony Brook University is seeking applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professors in the area of Cognitive Science. The first position focuses on candidates who utilize advanced quantitative methods to explore human perception or cognition. Ideal candidates will employ deep learning or machine learning techniques, including generative artificial intelligence, to investigate aspects of human perception, attention, or cognition. The department is particularly interested in scholars whose research can foster innovative collaborative initiatives across various disciplines. The second position is aimed at candidates with a proven research background in Cognitive Science, particularly those whose work centers on language or judgment and decision-making. However, applications from all areas within Cognitive Science will be considered. Successful candidates will be expected to teach and mentor students in Cognitive Science at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The Psychology Department at Stony Brook University offers doctoral programs in Cognitive Science, Clinical Psychology, Integrative Neuroscience, and Social and Health Psychology.
