About The Position

The Assistant Professor position in Cognitive/Behavioral Neuroscience at Brooklyn College is a full-time, tenure-track role focused on developing a research program in neuroscience. The successful candidate will engage in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, mentor students, and contribute to the department's service responsibilities. The position is set to begin in August 2025, coinciding with the introduction of a Neuroscience Major at the college.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Psychology or related field from an accredited institution (including candidates who expect to complete their degree prior to the start date).
• A record of published research in peer-reviewed journals or potential for success in securing external funding.
• Ability to teach undergraduate or graduate courses or potential for excellence in teaching, including online teaching, and in scholarship.
• Ability to teach in modalities offered at Brooklyn College such as face-to-face, online (synchronous and asynchronous), evening, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Expertise in non-invasive neurophysiological methods (fMRI, EEG, tDCS, TMS, cTBS, etc.) and computational expertise for advanced data analysis (machine learning).
• Expertise in electrophysiology, fiber photometry, calcium-imaging, chemogenetics, and/or optogenetics techniques.

Responsibilities

• Teaching undergraduate, master’s, and/or doctoral courses.
• Developing and maintaining a funded research agenda.
• Advising, mentoring, and training undergraduate and graduate students.
• Participating in college, department, and/or university committees, and various other service commitments.
