About The Position

The 12-month Full-Time Assistant Professor in the Health Occupations will perform the duties expected of full-time faculty, including maintaining scheduled office hours; developing and revising curriculum; developing and implementing course and program assessment of student learning outcomes; participating in college, division, and department meetings; serving on committees; and other duties as assigned. They will also be responsible for ensuring Certified Nurse Aide checkoffs are completed appropriately and within regulatory standards. The individual will assist the director of the Health Occupation program in orienting new faculty as needed and conduct peer reviews of CNA and CMA courses.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN)
  • A minimum of one year or 1,750 hours in long-term care
  • Registered Nursing License in Kansas or a Multi-State License
  • 3-5 years of clinical work experience with a focus on long-term care
  • Class, lab, and or teaching ability

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing Education
  • 5+ years in long-term care

  • In addition, full-time faculty members are expected to serve the College by contributing to the growth and enhancement of the College mission and programs.
  • Create and revise, develop and amend where appropriate, departmental or program curricula.
