About The Position
The Department of Psychology at Stony Brook University (SBU) is seeking applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in clinical psychology. This role is designed for candidates who have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or a closely related field, with a focus on those who can contribute to the department's research and teaching missions. The successful candidates will be expected to engage in high-quality research and demonstrate evidence of or potential for securing funding in any area related to clinical psychology. Teaching responsibilities will include mentoring students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, particularly in supervising graduate students in clinical practica at the department's training clinic. The Psychology Department at SBU offers doctoral programs in Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Science, Integrative Neuroscience, and Social and Health Psychology. Faculty members are known for their collaborative spirit and have a history of productive partnerships with various departments on campus, including the Department of Psychiatry in the academic medical center and the Institute for Advanced Computational Science. The department values candidates whose work complements existing strengths within the clinical program and other areas of the department, fostering an environment of interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
