About The Position

The Department of Civil Engineering & Construction Management at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Construction Management at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will teach Construction Management courses, both at the undergraduate and graduate level and have research interests in Construction Management and/or Construction Engineering or a related field. The successful candidate will be required to do advisement of undergraduate, and supervision of graduate students. Active and effective participation in curriculum development, assessment and accreditation, and other departmental activities are required. Participation in professional student organizations may be required. In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours, attending faculty meetings, participation in assessment of student learning, and service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate may be required to teach on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and/or online and will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are housed for recommending tenure and promotion. Requirements

  • Ph.D. and B.S. in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • ABD candidates will be considered but must complete the doctoral degree by August 15, 2025.
  • Teaching experience in Construction Management or Civil Engineering related courses at the College/University level.
  • Evidence of, or clear potential for, successful scholarly and/or creative development and sustained publication or exhibition in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Construction Management courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Advise undergraduate students and supervise graduate students.
  • Participate in curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation.
  • Engage in departmental activities and professional student organizations.
  • Hold weekly office hours and attend faculty meetings.
  • Participate in assessment of student learning.
  • Provide service to the department, college, and university.
  • Teach on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and/or online as required.
