About The Position

The Assistant Professor position in Ceramics at St. Catherine University is a full-time faculty role focused on teaching and developing the Ceramics program within the Art and Art History Department. Requirements

Responsibilities

• Teach a total of six sections (24 credits) per academic year, including ceramics, wheel throwing, 3-D design, and a department seminar course.
• Mentor and advise students in the Ceramics discipline.
• Participate in student portfolio reviews and advise the Clay Club.
• Oversee and manage the sculpture and ceramics studios, including electric and gas kilns.
• Engage in program and curriculum development that addresses issues of racism, colonialism, and oppression in art education.
• Develop coursework and pedagogies that engage a diverse student body.
• Teach in the Core Curriculum, including courses like The Reflective Woman or Global Search for Justice.
• Suggest advanced topics courses appealing to students from various majors.
