About The Position

Friends University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position in the Division of Business. The appointment will begin in August 2026 at a rank that reflects the candidate’s experience and academic background. This position is designed to support the teaching and development of the university’s graduate and undergraduate business programs. The majority of the faculty member’s responsibilities will involve teaching in general business areas such as management, leadership, operations, marketing, strategy, supply chain, project management, or other business disciplines that align with the candidate’s expertise. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued growth of the Division of Business by providing high-quality instruction, mentoring students, and participating in the academic life of the university. The faculty member will also assist with curriculum development, program assessment, and other activities that support the long-term strength of the business programs. EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Business Teaching Responsibilities The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and possibly graduate courses in business areas that match the candidate’s expertise. Teaching assignments may include management, leadership, operations, supply chain, marketing, project management, strategy, or related fields. The faculty member will be expected to support students inside and outside the classroom, use effective instructional practices, and contribute to a positive learning environment. Advising, Service, and Professional Engagement The successful candidate will participate in university and divisional committees and contribute to the work of the Business Division. Faculty at Friends University engage in ongoing professional development, scholarship, and community partnerships that strengthen their teaching and support the mission of the university. The faculty member will also assist with student advising, curriculum development, and program improvement efforts within the Division of Business. The successful candidate will also be responsible for recruiting and to engagement with the local business community.

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or DBA) in Business or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates who are actively pursuing a doctoral degree in Business from a regionally accredited institution may be considered if they can demonstrate clear and steady progress toward completion, including a defined degree plan and anticipated timeline for graduation.
  • Ability to teach a variety of business courses
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues

Nice To Haves

  • Completed Ph.D. or DBA in a business discipline from a regionally accredited institution
  • University-level teaching experience
  • Evidence of scholarly engagement or professional contributions in the field of business
  • Experience with curriculum planning, program development, or academic program growth
  • Professional certifications or applied experience relevant to business disciplines
