The Department of Pediatrics at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center ( LSUHSC ) in conjunction with the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans seeks a physician with expertise in childhood malignancies and/or cellular therapies including stem cell transplantation. The physician will help continue the growth of the robust cancer treatment program. A commitment to academic medicine and scholarship is expected. A clinical focus in either solid tumors or leukemia/lymphoma will fit the needs of the program and the best qualified individual will be given priority. The Department of Pediatrics at LSUHSC is committed to providing excellence in education, clinical care, and research. The selected candidate will become actively involved in all aspects of teaching including medical students, residents, and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellows. Oversight of clinical trials at Children’s Hospital as well as the implementation of new trials, membership in smaller sub-specialty organizations, and dissemination of knowledge through presentations and publications are other expectations. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology and licensed to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana at the time of initial appointment. Academic appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor as determined by the candidate’s experience and scholarly achievements.
