About The Position

Reporting to the Director of the School of Accountancy the Assistant Professor requires research, teaching, and service responsibilities as well as a terminal degree. The position is a full time 10-month, tenure-track appointment beginning August 1, 2026, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Requirements

Earned PhD in accounting or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in accounting, from an AACSB accredited institution by August 1, 2026.
Demonstrated commitment to advancing a strong and growing research and scholarship agenda and the production of research/creative activities as appropriate to the discipline.
Evidence of the potential for above average teaching ability.
Evidence of effective communication skills.
Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.

Nice To Haves

A teaching and research specialization in managerial or tax is preferred, but we will also consider other areas of specialization.
Related professional experience.
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, EA, CIA and CISA).
Experience working with a variety of students.
Experience in online course delivery, flipped classroom models, and the incorporation of technology into teaching.
