About The Position

Calvin University seeks an Assistant Professor-Accounting based out of our campus at 3201 BURTON STREET SE, GRAND RAPIDS, MI 49546. This is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. This position requires international and domestic travel, as needed, up to 5%. Demonstrate excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and master’s levels as well as have an active stream of relevant research and publications. Teach 21 – 24 semester hours per academic year between undergraduate and master’s level courses. Pursue an active scholarly agenda focused in Accounting and teach that agenda effectively. Requirements

  • PhD (or foreign academic equivalent) in accounting, finance, management science, or related field
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and master level accounting courses
  • Experience teaching with instructional technology such as Moodle, Kahoot, and Copilot AI
  • Experience with publications on accounting and business
  • Experience with the software languages SAS, STATA, and Python
  • Commitment to the educational mission of Calvin as a Christian liberal arts university affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church.
  • A commitment to the Christian faith and to the integration of faith, learning, and student development.
  • Demonstrated awareness and commitment to effectively establishing relationships and positive communication across multiple dimensions of diversity including, but not limited to, race, gender, physical limitations, class, or religious perspectives.
