About The Position

The Department of Psychological Science invites applicants for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2026. UA Little Rock is a doctoral-intensive metropolitan university serving a diverse student body of approximately 10,000 full- and part-time students. The Department of Psychological Science houses one of the largest undergraduate degree programs at UALR with about 600 active majors, state-of-the-art classrooms, and both flexible and fixed laboratory resources (e.g., statistics, developmental, user experience and AI and cognition, financial stress and health laboratories.) Support for faculty and student-engaged research and the pursuit of extramural funding is possible. Candidates who have already been teaching and have an active research program are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Psychology, ABD considered
• Experience in online teaching and integrating technology in teaching
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of learners
• Desire to engage in professional service activities in the community
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate

Nice To Haves

• A focus in one of the following: Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, or Human Experimental Psychology
• Experience teaching Psychological Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology
• Existing scholarship in area of expertise

Responsibilities

• Teaching to include courses in Statistics and Research Methods
• Exhibit a commitment to writing in the discipline
• Engage in research and scholarship activities
• Supervise student research and internships
• Advise students in the major
• Participate in service activities in the program, college, university, and the Little Rock community
• Other duties as assigned
