WE ARE HIRING AN ASSISTANT PROCESSING/MOLDING MANAGER THAT POSSESS HANDS-ON KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE IN PLASTIC INJECTION MOLDING. Position Summary: Under the direction of the Processing/Molding Manager, the Assistant Processing/Molding Manager holds the responsibility of learning about and assisting the Processing/Molding Manager in activities regarding the injection molding process to ensure the ancillary equipment related to the molding process operates to maximum efficiency to achieve the high-quality product. In addition to performing regular processing job responsibilities, this position will also hold leadership responsibilities in providing training and oversight of Injection Molding Process Technicians and Mold setters in the absence of the Processing/Molding Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Degree
  • Certification in Injection Molding
  • Minimum of two (2) years of working knowledge of Plastic injection molding processing
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in manufacturing and mechanical maintenance.
  • Minimum of three (3) years managerial/leadership work history
  • Basic computer knowledge using Microsoft suite.
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • Walk, Stand, bend, stretch for hours for hours at a time.
  • Visually inspect machines/tools, materials, and products to ensure quality and client metrics are met.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. at a time and gain greater weight with assistance.
  • Read and comprehend written instructions and ensure instructions are met and achieved upon review of completed product.
  • Must be able to properly record quality related concerns as they arise.
  • Ability to communicate in professional tone and manner in both verbal and written means.
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment in a collaborative team setting.
  • Ability to multi-task with a high sense of urgency
  • Required to work flexible hours including on-call needs, weekends and 2nd shift as business dictates.

Responsibilities

  • Possess confident understanding of pneumatics, electrical, hydraulic, and thermal dynamics and can apply these concepts in the workplace.
  • Understands the functionality of plastics and raw materials.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all ancillary equipment related to the injection molding process.
  • Ability to develop and implement new plastic injection molding processes to meet quality, cycle time and production efficiencies.
  • Ability to teach and demonstrate how to successfully set up injection molding machine to meet rigorous quality and efficiency standards.
  • Participates in the learning of and exhibits consistent growth in understanding when and how to refurbish/revise molds and mold repair.
  • Works with Processing/Molding Manager in an injection molding environment to understand and learn the design and development of new molds (tools).
  • Must be or strives to be adapt in reading of blueprints and part design.
  • Continuously participates in training to stay up to date on robotic engineering and how it relates to plastic injection molding.
  • Possess above average working knowledge in the installation of molds, machine set up and the molding changing process.
  • Participates with Processing/Molding Manager on the coordination of building and repair of molds with internal departments as well as external service providers.
  • Communicates daily with Processing/Molding Manager, Plant Manager and other supporting Operations Departments regarding status of molds, mold repairs, quality concerns and other concerns the injection molding process.
  • Responsible for daily management and training of Process Technicians, Mold setters and Technicians in the absence of the Processing/Molding Manager.
  • Partners with Processing/Molding Manager/HR Manager/Plant Manager on coaching and disciplinary actions regarding the processing team.
  • Understands and holds team to all safety rules, OSHA guidelines, GMP and PEE guidelines as well as any departmental/line specific work instructions and protocol.
  • Complies with and is a good steward with the Employee Handbook and all other Edge Plastics policies and protocols.
