About The Position

The Assistant Principal role to assist the Principal is to make instructional decisions for the school both about the vision for instruction and the curriculum we use. The role of the Assistant Principal is to model Professionalism for all staff. The Assistant Principal is also responsible for ensuring that all staff and students have what they need to be successful.

Responsibilities

  • Providing instructional coaching for teachers
  • Conducting informal observations and learning walks
  • Evaluating staff as needed using the Danielson Framework
  • Creating and delivering professional development
  • Acting as a mentor to new teachers, student teachers, and pre-service students
  • Remaining current on trends in education
  • Participating in school-wide activities and initiatives
  • Collaborating with Director of Climate to establish caring school community and restorative practices and support climate staff with implementation
  • Collaboration with Director of Culture to establish a caring and active school community
  • Summer program (am/pm)
  • Ed Tech initiatives
  • Federally mandated College and Career Readiness requirements
