About The Position

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative Assistant Principal for Operations to join our high school leadership team. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and effective management of the school's day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in operational leadership and a commitment to creating an environment that supports teaching and learning. Experience working in a 6-12 educational setting is preferred.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.
  • Valid administrative certification/license required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or operational role in an educational setting.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of operational systems, safety protocols, and school compliance regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in both middle and high school operations (grades 6-12).
  • Familiarity with school scheduling software and operational management systems.
  • Experience in leading safety initiatives or facilities management projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily school operations, including facilities management, transportation, safety, and security.
  • Develop and manage the school's master schedule, ensuring alignment with student and staff needs.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with district, state, and federal policies regarding operations and safety protocols.
  • Assist in developing and managing the school budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support school goals.
  • Monitor and manage inventories of supplies, equipment, and technology.
  • Collaborate with district personnel to ensure timely procurement and maintenance of resources.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the school's safety and emergency response plans.
  • Conduct regular drills and training for staff and students on safety protocols.
  • Act as the primary contact for emergency situations, coordinating with law enforcement and first responders as needed.
  • Oversee attendance policies, monitoring trends and intervening as necessary to promote student engagement.
  • Assist with the supervision of staff and contribute to a positive and professional school culture.
  • Manage school logistics, including substitute teacher scheduling, lunchroom operations, and transportation coordination.
  • Ensure the functionality of school technology and collaborate with IT staff to address issues.
  • Oversee facility improvements and manage school maintenance projects.
  • Coordinate with custodial staff to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff.
  • Serve as a liaison between the school and parents/guardians on operational matters.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders about operational changes or updates.
  • Collaborate with community partners to enhance school resources and opportunities.
