About The Position

Assist in the administration and supervision of the organization and operation of the best possible learning environment for students of the school. Position Specific Information (if Applicable): We are an EL Education school. Experience with EL Education or similar models is preferred. Renaissance Elementary Magnet School has specialized programing different from many neighboring schools: We are an EL Education School and strive to provide students with meaningful, cross content experiences in their learning created by teachers. We have early release for students each Wednesday to provide time for professional development and deep planning for all staff. As part of our Adventure Education program, classroom teachers accompany their students on two overnight, multiple day voyages each school year. These are supported and facilitated by our Adventure Education Coordinator, but require significant teacher involvement. Please see our staff voyage agreements HERE. Requirements

  • Colorado READ Act Designation (Principal/Admin) - Colorado Department of Education
  • Type D Principal/Administrators License - Colorado Department of Education
  • Master's Degree (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement human resources activities: hiring/mentoring/disciplining; terminations; staffing design/master schedule; professional development activities; evaluations.
  • Participate in the management of day-to-day operations of the school facility including purchase of instructional supplies, material & equipment, and coordinating capital reserve process (small & large capital).
  • Ensure safety of staff and students during emergency procedures.
  • Assist in the utilization of appropriate resources of the staff, student body, school district, and the community to develop and maintain highly effective instructional and co-curricular programs.
  • Conduct effective student disciplinary measures, ensuring uninterrupted instructional and co-curricular practices, as well as demonstrating behavioral expectations.
  • Collaborate with District Administrators regarding strategies for complying with state accreditation, accountability, and school improvement requirements; data collection and analysis of school wide student academic achievement, patterns of low student performance, and achievement discrepancies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Coordinate effective communications strategies among the students, the community, the faculty, and the administration.
