About The Position

The Learning Experience – South Lyon is seeking a caring and reliable Assistant Preschool Teacher to support our preschool classrooms serving children ages 3–5. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a structured, play-based learning environment and wants to grow in early childhood education.

Our curriculum focuses on the six ages and stages of early childhood development and engages children in hands-on learning activities that encourage them to explore and solve problems at their own rate of development. This forms a foundation for kids to Learn, Play and Grow under the care of our nurturing teachers and staff. At TLE®, we’ve created a full cast of characters that become our little learners’ educators, partners and friends through their preschool education journey. Each character has a unique personality and area of interest and brings learning to life by allowing children to explore the world through fun and imagination.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting preferred
• ECE coursework or CDA a plus
• Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices helpful

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in daily preschool classroom routines
• Assist with learning activities aligned with the L.E.A.P. curriculum
• Encourage early literacy, math readiness, and social development
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
• Support transitions, meals, rest time, and learning centers
• Communicate positively with families and team members
• Maintain compliance with Michigan childcare licensing standards
