PM Assistant Preschool Teacher (Part-Time)
About The Position
Assistant Preschool Teacher (PM) Part-time 1:00pm-6:15pm Responsibilities: Teaching and interacting with the children in the Spanish language, exposing them to songs, finger plays, music and dance in Spanish. Conducting daily supervision of children’s activities and conducting daily inspection of environment. Practicing developmentally appropriate techniques and assisting with implementing the lesson plans. Working together with the Lead Teacher to maintain an orderly and clean learning environment (this includes taking out the trash; proper sanitizing of tables, counters, bathrooms, and toys; and organizing drawers, cabinets and shelves). Assisting the children during snack and mealtimes, modeling polite manners. Assisting children with personal hygiene, which may include cleaning a child and helping him/her to change clothes in the event of an accident. Utilizing Conscious Discipline strategies to promote cooperation, constructive problem solving and academic success in the classroom. Engaging children in a playful learning environment both indoors and outdoors (outdoor playtime consists of two scheduled 45-minute periods each day). Closing the classroom on a daily basis. Preparing crafts and activities for and participating in special events and celebrations such as Easter and Día de los Muertos. Helping out in other parts of the school. Attending ongoing staff development activities, including our evening monthly staff meeting, and maintaining required level of training hours.
