Assistant Preschool Teacher
About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Assistant Montessori Preschool Teacher to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist the lead teacher in implementing Montessori-based activities and lesson plans that foster a love of learning in young children. You will support the classroom environment, encourage independence, and work closely with students to develop their social, emotional, and cognitive skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, a positive attitude, and a commitment to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom. You are passionate about learning and helping students reach their potential. With strong creative and problem-solving skills, you love connecting with individual students and creating an engaging classroom environment. Montessori experience is preferred but not required. Kensington Montessori of Laguna Niguel Preschool is conveniently located by the intersection of Alicia and Niguel Road in Laguna Niguel, California. The classrooms are bright, spacious, and completely brand new. Our teachers are Montessori trained and we have all new Montessori materials. We have recently integrated Spanish to our curriculum. Each Friday all of our classrooms work on a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) project that corresponds to our unit of study. Our children spend their outside time on a grassy playground which has trees, a garden, a playhouse, a play structure and plenty of ride-on toys.
Requirements
- Must have at least 3 Early Childhood Education Units (ECE) and must be willing to complete 12 units
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
- Problem-solving and mediation skills
Nice To Haves
- Montessori experience is preferred but not required.
