About The Position

The Assistant Prepared Foods Team Lead is responsible for embodying Earth Fare's Vision, Mission, Declaration, and Customer Service Creed while training and developing team members in the Prepared Foods Department. This role involves close collaboration with the Prepared Foods Team Leader to ensure departmental profitability and positive outcomes, adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, and the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

• 1-2 years minimum experience working in a food service environment.
• 1-2 years minimum experience working in a retail/customer service environment preferred.
• Knowledge of food service industry trends and specialized dietary terms such as gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, etc.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation as well as proper use of kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to learn and use a Falcon hand-held computer scanner.
• Leadership experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Perishable experience and OSHA ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Earth Fare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate Earth Fare vision, standard operating procedures, merchandising guidelines, and financial goals to team members.
• Participate in the interview process and coach, train, and develop team members in the Food Service Department.
• Supervise and participate in the production of in-house prepared foods and ensure proper presentation and display of quality pre-made items.
• Maintain high standards of quality control in food production.
• Order and receive deliveries, schedule staff, and check daily and weekly sales/movement reports.
• Conduct monthly department inventory and respond to emails accordingly.
• Develop and maintain an attractive sales floor by implementing merchandising guidelines.
• Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and overall organization of the department.
