About The Position

The Assistant Pre-school Teacher at Utah Community Action plays a vital role in shaping the educational experiences of preschool children aged 3-5 years. This position involves collaborating with a team of teachers to create engaging lesson plans, track children's development, and foster a safe and nurturing learning environment. The role is designed for individuals passionate about making a difference in children's lives and contributing to their growth and development.

Requirements

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Family and Consumer Studies, or a related field required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, supporting, and implementing learning experiences that advance children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Help develop weekly lesson plans to ignite curiosity and growth in preschool children.
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in tracking each child's growth through observations, portfolio documentation, developmental checklists, and assessment data.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's progress.
  • Collaborate with others to identify, refer, and provide services and support to children with special needs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing behavior plans and appropriate interventions.
  • Conduct a minimum of two Home Visits and two Staff-Parent Conferences during the school year.
  • Continue professional development through research-based coaching strategies, trainings, peer mentoring, and college classes.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment.
