Requirements

High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
Previous experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
Demonstrates empathy, patience, and compassion for young children
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic understanding of child development
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with handling children
Must pass required state background checks and meet Maryland state requirements

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
Previous experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting

Responsibilities

Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean, and inviting learning environment
Supervise children and provide individualized support while fostering a sense of belonging
Assist with communication to families regarding daily activities and student progress
Follow health, safety, and licensing regulations to ensure a secure classroom environment
Support daily care routines and classroom management
