Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Previous experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
  • Demonstrates empathy, patience, and compassion for young children
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic understanding of child development
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with handling children
  • Must pass required state background checks and meet Maryland state requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Previous experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
  • Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
  • Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean, and inviting learning environment
  • Supervise children and provide individualized support while fostering a sense of belonging
  • Assist with communication to families regarding daily activities and student progress
  • Follow health, safety, and licensing regulations to ensure a secure classroom environment
  • Support daily care routines and classroom management
