About The Position

Seasonal Leadership Opportunity! Country Club of Landfall is seeking an organized, safety-conscious, and Member-focused Assistant Pool Manager to help oversee our pool operations this summer. This role is ideal for someone with lifeguarding experience and leadership skills who thrives in a team environment. The role of the Assistant Pool Manger is to assist the Aquatics and Wellness Manager by acting as the Manager on Duty (MOD) for scheduled shifts at the Country Club of Landfall Sports Center Pool facility. They are responsible for managing the daily tasks of the lifeguards, making sure staff arrive on time, as well as maintaining positive morale for lifeguard staff. An ideal candidate: Will be engaging with members, providing impeccable service, and being utilized as a resource for members and staff while on the pool deck. Will take the initiative to complete necessary tasks without direction and will be able to maintain a safe work environment at all times Will mentor new employees and continue to learn from fellow employee partners Use the acquired skills to complete pool deck daily tasks Plan, organize, and complete tasks in an efficient manner Encourage staff to work as a team, encourage collaboration, and will work with the Aquatics and Wellness Manager to provide continual training opportunities for lifeguard staff-including required in-service trainings. Monitor pool chemicals and pump room activity and report any issues to the Aquatics and Wellness Manager or the Fitness and Aquatics Director. Report issues of misconduct within the lifeguard staff and the Aquatics and Wellness Manager or Fitness and Aquatics Director will handle all further action regarding consequences. Maintain order and cleanliness on the pool deck by assigning lifeguards on duty with responsibilities while they are on shift. Attend weekly pool management team meetings to ensure all staff members are on the same page and creating great experiences for the members. Report any scheduling concerns/issues to the Aquatics and Wellness Manager and follow-up for these issues will be handled between the Lifeguard Supervisor and the Aquatics and Wellness Manager The Assistant Pool Manager will be an integral part in planning events for members during the holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day). They will also be available during the day of all 3 holidays to manage lifeguards and create great experiences for members. The Assistant Pool Manager will create Warm Welcomes, Magical Moments, and Fond Farewells for membership at the Country Club of Landfall

Requirements

  • 18+ years old
  • At least 3-4 years lifeguarding
  • At least 2 years in lifeguard management/leadership
  • American Red Cross CPR/AED certified
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard certified
  • Great communication skills
  • Great customer service skills
  • Able to lift 25+ pounds
  • Able to work in outdoor conditions (rain, humidity, thunder, lightning, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work 30-40 hours per week from the months of May – September
  • Must be available Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day
  • Able to supervise a team of 20+ lifeguards
  • Attendance Requirements for this position: this is a full-time seasonal position.
  • Early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays are the requirements of this role.

Nice To Haves

  • American Red Cross Lifeguard (LGI) certified preferred
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred
