About The Position

EMC Holding Group, Inc has an opportunity for an Assistant Plumbe r in Harlingen, Texas . An Assistant Plumber is an entry-level position that provides crucial support to licensed plumbers. This role is essential for the efficient and safe completion of plumbing projects, ranging from routine maintenance to complex installations and repairs. The Assistant Plumber works under the direct supervision of a skilled plumber, assisting with a wide range of tasks while gaining valuable on-the-job experience. This position requires physical stamina, a willingness to learn, and strong attention to detail. This is a dynamic role that requires extensive travel to various job sites, often involving both driving company vehicles and air travel. Travel expected up to 100% of the time.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Valid driver licenses required.
  • OSHA 10, if not certified must be completed within 30 days of hire date.
  • Ability to get the proper equipment or company vehicles to and from job sites
  • Ability to work independently on a job site
  • Good knowledge of plumbing equipment and techniques.
  • A strong work ethic, a reliable and dependable nature, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Good physical fitness and dexterity.
  • Critical thinker with good problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the lead plumber, team members, and customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations.
  • Ability to use good judgement and problem-solving skills while striving to work safely

Responsibilities

  • Packing and sorting plumbing equipment for each job.
  • Locating pipe leaks and preparing the work area.
  • Cutting open walls and structures to expose pipes.
  • Installing toilets, showerheads, aerators, water heaters
  • Adjusting water pressure valves.
  • Assisting the Master Plumber with plumbing installations and repairs.
  • Replacing faucet washers and toilet wax rings.
  • Measuring, cutting, assembling, and threading pipes.
  • Installing gutters, drainpipes, and runoff systems.
  • Ensure systems meet all standards of building codes and safety.
  • Coordinate with project manager on installation
  • Other duties as assigned.
