About The Position

M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and operational excellence are critical to success. The Assistant Plant Manager supports the overall management and coordination of injection molding operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety across the facility. This role partners closely with plant leadership to drive performance, support teams, and maintain alignment with operational and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Capacity Planning: Ability to plan and optimize production capacity, ensuring the efficient use of resources; willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support plant operations
  • Maintenance Planning: Skill in coordinating maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • OSHA Standards & Compliance: In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and a commitment to ensuring compliance with safety regulations
  • Production Planning/Control: Skill in developing and implementing production plans to meet customer demand and organizational goals; proficient in managing production schedules, inventory levels, and workflow to meet production targets
  • Production Management: Strong knowledge of injection molding processes and industry best practices; skill in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a plastics injection molding facility
  • Quality Management: Skill in maintaining and improving product quality through effective quality control measures
  • Risk Control: Ability to identify potential risks in production processes and implement measures to mitigate those risks
  • Safety Policies and Procedures: Commitment to promoting and enforcing safety policies and procedures within the manufacturing environment; knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in injection molding
  • Team Building: Ability to inspire and motivate teams across a plant, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture
  • Project Management: Proficiency in project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure successful and timely completion
  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address challenges in a proactive and effective manner
  • Associate’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a leadership role within a plastics injection molding manufacturing plant
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans aligned with business objectives
  • Proven experience in project management and implementation of cost reduction initiatives
  • Proven experience in maintaining and improving processes and product quality through effective leadership and personnel development
  • Proven leadership experience with demonstrated ability to guide teams toward common goals

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager/General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the plastics injection molding facility, ensuring facility targets are met
  • Provide guidance and supervision to production teams, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the facility, enhancing overall efficiency and product quality
  • Assist in managing resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet production goals while maintaining cost-effectiveness
  • Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that injection molded products and processes meet or exceed internal specifications, industry standards, and customer specifications
  • Uphold and enforce safety protocols specific to injection molding, promoting a secure working environment for all employees
  • Facilitate effective communication between departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  • Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and measure plant performance, regularly reporting on progress and areas for improvement
  • Support the development of training programs for plant staff, focusing on skill enhancement and career growth
  • Assist in monitoring and managing the plant budget, working to achieve financial targets and cost-control objectives
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and audit for compliance
