What you'll do as an Assistant Plant Manager: Drive day-to-day plant operations by improving production flow, labor efficiency, and on-time output. Lead from the floor by supporting Production Supervisors, reinforcing expectations, and keeping teams aligned. Allocate labor and resources daily to support workflow, staffing needs, and production priorities Jump in to troubleshoot operational, manufacturing, or maintenance issues before they slow production. Support hiring, onboarding, and training efforts for plant personnel alongside leadership Assist with performance management, coaching conversations, and employee relations as needed Partner with engineering, scheduling, quality, steel fabrication, and yard teams to hit production targets. Champion a strong safety culture by staying visible, engaged, and proactive on the production floor. Serve as the on-site authority and point of leadership when the Plant Manager is unavailable Our Ideal Assistant Plant Manager: Experienced: 5+ years of plant or production management experience in manufacturing or construction environments. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Certifications: NPCA, ACI, or PCI certifications, OSHA 10 or 30, or Lean Six Sigma training preferred, but not required. Hands-on Leader: Leads by being present on the production floor, coaching supervisors and crews, setting clear expectations, and addressing performance issues directly. Problem-solver: Spots inefficiencies, solves root-cause issues, and improves workflows without slowing production. Safety-driven: Takes safety seriously and actively reinforces standards through daily presence and leadership. Technically Capable: Reads and interprets drawings, shop tickets, schedules, and production documents with confidence. Growth-minded: Wants to keep building skills, take on more responsibility, and grow into a higher-level leadership role.
