About The Position

The Assistant Controller at Terumo Blood & Cell Technologies in Colorado, plays a key role supporting the Plant Controller and the Supply Chain Finance organization. This position ensures accuracy and compliance in all plant financial activities, assists with month-end close, reporting, and forecasting, and helps drive operational and financial excellence across the manufacturing network. The role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and corporate finance to support a $200M+ production budget, $25M+ in capital expenditures, and $20M in inventory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or country equivalent) required.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or manufacturing finance.
  • Experience with SAP (S/4HANA preferred).
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and capital project accounting.
  • Knowledge of GAAP; IFRS exposure a plus.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively across levels.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and clearly communicate insights.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Expert communication skills to wide range of individuals within the organization both verbally and written.
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and team collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Experience in a matrixed, global manufacturing organization preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lean or continuous improvement concepts is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support all plant-related GAAP, SOX, and Terumo policy requirements to ensure accurate financial statements (P&L and Balance Sheet).
  • Assist in preparation and review of monthly financial results, variance analyses, and supporting schedules.
  • Partner with the Plant Controller to lead month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly operational metrics, highlighting key trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to quarterly forecast and annual budget cycles for the Littleton and Lakewood facilities.
  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing cost performance, inventory valuation, and capital spending.
  • Support internal and external audit requests and ensure adherence to internal control standards.
  • Provide financial analysis and decision support to plant and operations leadership teams.
  • Assist in developing and mentoring junior finance staff and support the finance internship program.
  • Help foster financial acumen and cost awareness across plant and operations teams.
