The Role + Purpose The Assistant Pattern Maker supports Senior Pattern Maker and the Technical Design team in all facets of the product life cycle. This role partners closely with Pattern Team, Technical Design, and Design Team to help ensure styles are executed with brand look, fit and standards from development through bulk approval. This role will be focused on but not limited to “5 Pocket” Denim and Washed Bottoms. This is a growth opportunity to work with a highly skilled team of professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachlors degree in Technical Design, Fashion Design, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking and draping
  • Basic working knowledge of Gerber, PLM, and Illustrator.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet calendar deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy across fit, construction, and technical documentation.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across teams and with overseas factories.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting women’s denim and washed bottoms.
  • CLO knowledge.
  • Familiarity with block libraries, grading rules, and fit standard maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong follow-through and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Pattern and Technical Design teams in maintaining technical design standards and consistency across women’s denim 5 Pocket and Washed Product Bottoms.
  • Digitizing patterns in the Gerber system.
  • Specing and inspecting garments.
  • Attend all fittings and assist the Pattern and Technical Design teams in managing the fit approval process.
  • Record fit comments, take fit photos, and organize samples following fittings.
  • Help in maintaining the block library.
  • Assist with general daily task supporting the team as needed to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
