About The Position

Cherokee Town & Country Club in Atlanta, GA is seeking to hire a full-time Assistant Pastry Chef to assist in the production of baked goods, pastries, centerpieces, wedding cakes, and special sweet preparations. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PASTRY LINE COOK: You begin each day energized and reedy to contribute to a fast-paced, creative, and collaborative culinary environment. As the Assistant Pastry Chef, you support the daily operations of the pastry kitchen and help maintain high standards across all areas, including breads, banquets, pastry carts, and general production. You are skilled in both classic and modern decoration techniques, including those demonstrated by the Executive Pastry Chef and current trends in the industry. You are also responsible for maintaining a detailed recipe file for all items produced in the Pastry Shop, along with any decorating templates or stencils used for cakes and specialty pastries. Key responsibilities include: Supporting production across all pastry stations: breads, banquet desserts, pastry carts, and more Ensuring consistency in quality, presentation, and taste Contributing to the development and execution of daily pastry specials and seasonal menu offerings Assisting with training new pastry team members and stewards in recipes and kitchen procedures Coordinating with banquet operations to fulfill daily dessert and bread requirements, including setup according to banquet event orders Performing additional duties as assigned by the Executive Pastry Chef or Executive Chef Your role is essential in ensuring the success of our pastry kitchen and in delivering exceptional guest experiences through thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented pastries.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years' experience preferred.
  • Graduate of culinary school or apprenticeship program
  • Able to certify as Pastry Culinarian and Working Pastry Chef in 2 years.
  • Basic skills in cake decorating and chocolate.
  • Prior restaurant experience is preferred.
