About The Position

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is seeking a talented Assistant Pastry Chef who is passionate about food quality, customer service, and community. This is a part-time position with early morning availability required, with shifts typically from 4 am to 10 am. The role involves being part of a dynamic team responsible for preparing a unique menu selection of over 40 fresh-baked pastries, pies, cakes, and muffins, all made with honest, whole ingredients.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Early morning availability (shifts are 4am-10am)
• Ability to lift large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies all weighing 50 lbs. or more
• Ability to stand, lift, and mix
• Attentiveness to compliance with local, state, & federal regulations for food handler & sanitation standards

Nice To Haves

• 1+ years of large-scale baking/pastry experience with experience in working quickly to decorate amazing pastries
• Formal baking/pastry education

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate super-hero abilities in the kitchen, following recipes and paying close attention to details to create one-of-a-kind pastries and baked goods
• Lift large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 lbs. or more
• Stand, lift, and mix ingredients
• Work through change and be flexible while keeping a close eye on what's cooking
• Be an early bird, as all Pastry Chef shifts start early
• Work quickly to decorate amazing pastries (preferred)
• Be attentive to compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for food handler and sanitation standards
