About The Position

The Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy at the Muma College of Business, University of South Florida, invites applications for a full-time, 9-month non-tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor of instruction level. Candidates must have or expect to complete a doctoral degree in accountancy or related business discipline before August 2026 from an AACSB (or international equivalent) accredited university or be enrolled in a master's in accountancy or master's in business administration with a concentration in accountancy degree program and have 15 or more years of recent business experience at the audit partner or CFO level. Ideal candidates will demonstrate excellence in teaching with the ability to contribute at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching experience in auditing, financial accounting, and/or accounting information systems is highly desirable. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to incorporate data analytics and quantitative skills into courses they have taught or can teach. Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience and those with a record of and sustained interest in publishing.

Requirements

  • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of assistant professor/associate professor of instruction.
  • Normally the candidate will have produced research in refereed and other professional journals to be named associate professor.
  • Doctoral degree with a major or concentration in Accountancy from an AACSB accredited institution or international equivalent, or 10 or more years of recent business experience at the audit partner or CFO level is required as of the contract date.

  • AACSB college and accountancy accreditation of the program granting the candidate's degree.
  • If non-terminally degreed candidate, a master's degree with a major in accountancy.
  • Evidence of experience or ability to teach courses in audit, financial accounting, and/or accounting information systems.
  • Evidence of the ability to incorporate data analytics and quantitative skills into courses they have taught or can teach.
  • Reputation of program granting the candidate's degree.
  • Reputation of program(s) where the candidate might have been employed previously.
  • Practice experience.
  • Professional certifications such as a CPA.
  • Evidence of ability or potential to publish and remain research active (to support Scholarly Academic qualification), or if non-terminally degreed professionally active (to support Instructional Practitioner qualification).
  • Overall quality of the candidate as indicated by letters of reference and personal contacts.
