About The Position

The Public Policy and Political Economy program at the University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Instruction or Practice in cybersecurity policy. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of the intersection of the technical aspects of cybersecurity and the broader public policy implications of the field. Candidates should have a record of excellence in teaching and management experience in the public sector. The appointment commences for the fall 2026 semester.

Requirements

• A PhD or equivalent in public policy or public affairs or a related discipline is required prior to employment
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment
• Ability to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices

Nice To Haves

• A PhD in public policy
• Experience commensurate with the Associate level for applicants at that rank
• Significant industry experience for applicants for a Professor of Practice position

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence
• Prepare and teach undergraduate and/or graduate classes
• Contribute assessment information and data as requested
• Mentor and/or advise undergraduate and/or graduate students
• Continue to expand professional influence in the academic discipline through research and/or publication
• Engage in service within the academic unit, the university, and the profession as appropriate based on teaching and research constraints
• Teach six (6) classes each academic year
