About The Position

The College of Charleston is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor of Arts Management to join the School of the Arts. This tenure-track position will commence in August 2025 and involves teaching, research, and engagement with arts organizations. The successful candidate will contribute to program development and mentor undergraduate students while performing service to the college and the community.

Requirements

• A terminal degree in arts management or a closely related field.
• For Assistant Professor: 3-5+ years of experience in arts management, including teaching and management experience.
• For Associate Professor: 7-10+ years of experience teaching arts management at the college level in a tenure-track role and leadership experience in the arts.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses and conduct quality research.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Experience with online teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach six courses per year in the Arts Management Program.
• Conduct research in arts management and related fields.
• Engage with arts and cultural organizations.
• Contribute to program development within the Arts Management department.
• Mentor and advise undergraduate students.
• Perform service to the College, community, and profession.
