About The Position

The Pediatric Blood and Cancer Program of Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and Doernbecher Children's Hospital is seeking an outstanding pediatric neuro-oncologist to serve as Medical Director of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Program. This trans-disciplinary program brings together clinical and research expertise from pediatric neurosurgery, pediatric neurology, radiation oncology, neuroradiology, neuropathology, as well as pediatric neuro-oncology. Candidates with lab-based research are encouraged to apply and will be supported through the robust research infrastructure of the Papé Family Pediatric Research Institute. In addition to leading the pediatric neuro-oncology program, responsibilities will include contributing to a diverse clinical practice, engaging in scholarship, and teaching a wide range of learners, including Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (PHO) fellows. This faculty position is within the Division of PHO, Department of Pediatrics, OHSU School of Medicine. The Division of PHO provides comprehensive care to children and young adults from the entire state of Oregon and southwest Washington, and from national referrals. Neuro-oncology patients have access to clinical trials through the Children's Oncology Group, the Pacific Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium, industry-sponsored trials, and institutional collaborations. The successful candidate will join 24 clinical and/or research faculty within the Division of PHO and will become member of the NCI-designated comprehensive OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. Doernbecher Children's Hospital is a 151-bed state-of-the art facility on the OHSU campus and serves as the tertiary and quaternary referral center for all of Oregon and SW Washington. It consistently ranks among the top children's hospitals in the United States according to US News and World Report. PHO patients receive comprehensive care in a 21-bed inpatient unit, adjacent clinic and infusion center. The > 300 clinical and research faculty within the Department of Pediatrics represent all pediatric subspecialties. OHSU boasts more than 2500 faculty integral to the academic mission. Requirements

  • Candidates for this position must be board certified in PHO and have substantial experience as a pediatric neuro-oncologist and clinical investigator.
  • Interested applicants should be at the faculty rank of late Assistant, Associate, or full Professor.
