About The Position

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Arizona invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions, including both Assistant and Associate Professor positions. One of the positions is collaborative with the Applied Math Graduate Interdisciplinary Program (GIDP) and is expected to be in the general area of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and/or Data Science. The other positions are open to all areas of Computer Science. The Department of Computer Science has a long history of research accomplishments, influential software distribution, and substantial external funding. The department currently has 20 tenure-track faculty and 11 teaching faculty. We offer three undergraduate degrees (B.S. and B.A in Computer Science and B.S. in Artificial Intelligence) as well as two graduate degrees (M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science). Current research areas include algorithms, bioinformatics, compilers, computational geometry, data management, high-performance computing, human-computer interaction, machine learning, natural language processing, networks, programming languages, security, computer vision, and visualization. The Computer Science department is in the College of Science, which includes other highly ranked departments such as Astronomy and Geosciences, with which Computer Science faculty actively collaborate.
