About the position
The University of Houston College of Education is seeking a tenure-track Assistant or tenured/tenure-track Associate Professor in Artificial Intelligence, Teaching, and Learning. This position aims to enhance teacher preparation and graduate programs while focusing on student success, social justice, and community engagement. The successful candidate will contribute to a Carnegie-designated Tier One research institution, engaging in research, teaching, and service to improve educational outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct active research and seek external funding.
- Publish scholarly work in high-impact venues.
- Teach undergraduate, master's, and doctoral courses in face-to-face, online, or hybrid formats.
- Participate in course and program development.
- Supervise graduate student research and teaching assistants.
- Engage in community outreach activities.
- Provide service to the Department, College, University, and profession.
Requirements
- Doctorate in artificial intelligence, teaching and learning, psychology, or a related field.
- Active record of scholarship and external funding commensurate with experience.
- Experience in computer-supported collaborative learning environments or AI use in K-12 education.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Familiarity with learning sciences, STEM education, health, and special populations.
