As the Assistant Operations Manager for Aussie Pet Mobile of Greater Reno, you’ll support daily operations, delight customers, optimize schedules, and ensure our groomers and vans are set up for success—no cages, no chaos, just exceptional service at the doorstep. Job Summary The Assistant Operations Manager plays a critical role in both customer experience and day-to-day business operations. This position is responsible for selling mobile grooming services, managing schedules and routes, supporting groomers and dispatchers, and ensuring operational readiness across vans, inventory, and facilities. You will coordinate appointments, optimize routes, manage supplies, and maintain smooth daily operations while helping improve systems as the business grows.

Requirements

  • Must live in Reno, Nevada or surrounding areas
  • Available to meet in-person for monthly team meetings and visit the storage facility weekly
  • Strong communication skills (phone, text, and written)
  • Highly organized with excellent time management
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable with customer service and light sales
  • Tech-savvy with scheduling/CRM tools (Vonigo or similar preferred)
  • Operations or logistics experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of pet grooming is helpful, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Answer calls and texts with a warm, professional tone
  • Guide customers through services and book grooming appointments
  • Set clear expectations on pricing, timing, and outcomes
  • Manage daily schedules using our platform (Vonigo)
  • Assign appointments based on location, availability, and service needs
  • Build efficient routes to minimize drive time and maximize productivity
  • Backfill cancellations quickly to maintain full schedules
  • Share daily schedules, notes, and special requests with groomers
  • Communicate updates, delays, or changes in real time
  • Act as the liaison between customers and field team
  • Track grooming supplies and maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Coordinate ordering and restocking as needed
  • Complete a bi-weekly exterior handwash van cleaning
  • Monitor cleanliness, organization, and readiness of each van
  • Identify and escalate maintenance or operational issues
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage unit(s)
  • Manage supplies, equipment, and accessibility for the team
  • Support efficient systems for inventory and storage
  • Maintain accurate customer, pet, and service records
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts or customer concerns with urgency
  • Identify inefficiencies and suggest process improvements
  • Support operational growth as the business expands
