About The Position
As an Assistant Operations Manager at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our local and interstate moving operations. The ideal candidate will have prior supervisory experience and a strong desire to advance their career within the moving industry. Fleet maintenance experience is highly valued, as it contributes to the overall efficiency and safety of our operations. A positive attitude and a willingness to tackle challenges head-on are essential traits for success in this role. In this position, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of a moving company that operates a fleet of over 20 vehicles and employs more than 40 staff members. Your primary responsibilities will include hiring, training, and motivating employees, controlling operational costs, managing daily logistics, and ensuring that customer satisfaction remains a top priority. You will also be tasked with determining staffing requirements, coordinating employee schedules, and overseeing the dispatch of moving crews. Additionally, you will lead training initiatives for movers and drivers, focusing on team development and motivation. Safety is a critical aspect of this role, and you will be expected to promote safety practices and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including those set forth by the Department of Transportation and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. As the on-call contact outside of normal business hours, you will be responsible for addressing any issues that arise during moves, conducting performance audits to ensure safety and customer satisfaction, and overseeing the resolution of any damage claims. Your experience in general labor, non-CDL transportation, landscaping, construction, production, manufacturing, assembly, or warehouse operations will be beneficial in this role.
