The Assistant Operations Controller coordinates with the Operations Controller on the Revenue Audit Department's day-to-day activities. This role provides assistance in reviewing and coordinating the preparation of all operating and management reports. The Assistant Operations Controller supports the Operations Controller on special projects and during their absence for extended periods, while maintaining confidentiality of all related information and documentation.

  • Assists the Operations Controller in all aspects of the Revenue Audit Department.
  • Maintains and balances the general ledger and prepares journal entries as required.
  • Prepares annual tax filings of the W2-G's, 1042-S, 1099's, and 8027's.
  • Assists with Year-End Close, Annual Audit, Month End Close, Gaming Audits, Internal Audits, and prepares journal entries and schedules as required.
  • Trains Revenue Audit Managers and Team Members, and fills in during extended absences.
  • Reviews daily journal entries for all Gaming and Non-Gaming areas for accuracy prior to submission to Accounting.
  • Reviews general accounts of which revenue audit is responsible to ensure accuracy in postings and reconciliations.
  • B.S. in Accounting, Business Administration or closely related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years in an accounting supervisory role in business, governmental or non-profit agency.
  • Previous management experience of day-to-day activities in both Gaming and Non-Gaming areas.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and competence in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Proficient with Excel, including the use of Pivot Tables/Power Pivot Tables.
  • Familiar with accounting database systems such as Peoplesoft and report writer programs.
