About The Position

Cross Creek Nursery & Landscaping is a family-owned, community-focused garden center built on hard work, plants, and people who care about both. We’re looking for an experienced an Assistant Manager to step into a key management role supporting daily nursery operations, team leadership, and plant quality in a fast-paced outdoor retail environment. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who has managed people, operations, or retail/landscape teams, and enjoys being actively involved in the work, not just directing it.

Requirements

• Proven management experience in outdoor retail, nursery, landscaping, or similar environment
• Strong ability to lead teams, manage workflows, and hold standards
• Comfortable in a physical, outdoor role year-round
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stay active throughout the day
• Weekend availability required

Nice To Haves

• Experience working directly with plants or living inventory is a strong plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily nursery operations in an outdoor garden center setting
• Lead and support a team of nursery and retail staff in a hands-on environment
• Ensure high standards in plant health, presentation, and customer experience
• Manage task delegation, workflow, and team accountability
• Support seasonal planning, merchandising, and plant movement strategies
• Work closely with department leads to improve efficiency and performance
• Help maintain an organized, well-run, and visually strong retail space
• Participate in inventory processes and operational improvements
