About The Position

Are you ready to take the next step in your nursing career and lead with purpose in one of the nation’s most advanced neonatal intensive care units? At Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, we’re seeking an Assistant Nurse Operations Manager for our Level III/IV NICU. In this role, you’ll help guide an expert team dedicated to providing compassionate, life-saving care for our tiniest patients and their families. Our 142-bed NICU has an array of specialized services including a program dedicated to the care of micro-preemies, and neonatal transport and ECMO programs. Orlando Health Winnie Palmer is proudly home to one of the largest award-winning neonatal intensive care units in the country and is recognized as a “Best Children’s Hospital” in Neonatology by U.S. News & World Reports. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most skilled professionals in Neonatal's health, supported by advanced technology and resources in a state-of-the-art facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active RN license in Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in NICU.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
  • A passion for patient care and team development.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a related graduate degree
  • Leadership experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Nurse Operations Manager with unit management, including staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation.
  • Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, serving as a role model and mentor.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and team performance.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, compassion, and excellence.
  • Address patient and family concerns promptly, ensuring a positive experience.
