D/E/N, 8- and 12-hour shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call responsibilities per unit policy. Seeking a dynamic Assistant Nurse Manager who demonstrates the ability to function in the leadership role and work cohesively with a team in the area's only off-campus Emergency Department. The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) provides direct support to the Unit Nurse Manager, assisting in daily unit operations and providing clinical care to patients of all ages. Participates in the management of human resources, career sculpting, the development and evaluation of recruitment and retention strategies. Involved in activities at the service, nursing practice, and institutional level, contributes to goal achievement through personal action, effective communication, and facilitation of others. Seeking an individual with a positive attitude, who demonstrates leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strategic problem-solving ability, and strong clinical skills.

Requirements

  • BSN
  • 3-5 years of acute care experience
  • previous leadership experience preferred
  • an active New York State RN license in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • In an inpatient setting, supports standards of care and providing consultation and expertise in the delivery of patient care.
  • Supports activities at the service, nursing practice, and institutional level, and contributes to goal achievement through personal action and the facilitation of others.
  • They participate in community and professional organizations, demonstrating commitment to the promotion of nursing's visibility and future.
  • Provides expert patient care, serves as a resource, consults as requested, and communicates effectively within the unit and service.
  • They also participate in the management of human resources, the development and evaluation of recruitment and retention strategies, and the monitoring of patient outcomes.
  • May have responsibilities at the unit, program or service level and may assume an expanded role as assigned by leadership
