Assistant Nurse Managers are responsible for the following: The Assistant Nurse Manager facilitates the realization of the organization's mission, strategic plan, and values at the point of care. Plans for, leads, coordinates and facilitates the provision of quality care and service for a defined population of patients and facilitates the procurement of appropriate supplies/equipment and provides for adequate numbers and mix of staff to deliver nursing care. The Assistant Nurse Manager demonstrates excellence in problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility and teamwork. The Assistant Nurse Manager provides leadership, consultation and collaboration in a dynamic, multidisciplinary teaching environment. She/He collaborates with administrators and other members of the health care team to design, evaluate and improve patient care systems and processes. She/he supports nursing professional development, Magnet, and Shared Governance through participation in, and mentoring of colleagues, on councils and the Clinical Ladder program

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required, master’s degree preferred.
  • Specialty/leadership certification preferred (for example CCRN, CEN, NE-BC, other) within 2 years of hire.
  • 5+ years acute care experience required; experience in a similar or ‘like’ unit is required: demonstrated leadership and management potential.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of PA
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required.
  • ACLS and PALS as required by department.
  • Certification in specialty preferred. If Certification is required on a specific unit; certification must be obtained within one year of hire date.
