Under the general direction of the Nurse Manager the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) practices within the Lahey Clinic Professional Practice Model, MA State nurse Practice Act and ANA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. The ANM Supervises and coordinates the delivery of patient care on assigned unit. Assumes full management responsibility in the absence of the Nurse Manager, which includes communicating policies, effectively recommending salary actions, evaluating staff job performance and counseling staff. Areas of responsibility include: · Clinical practice · System coordination · Quality improvement · Human resource management · Unit budget · Professional growth · Self-improvement The Assistant Nurse Manager may provide direct or indirect care to patients and in collaboration with other health care team members. The ANM maintains a current level of knowledge with leadership skills as defined by nursing specialty organizations, complies with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies, and is currently licensed in the state of Massachusetts as a registered nurse.
