About The Position

Position Highlights: Position: Associate Nurse Manager-Medical Surgical Unit Job Type: Full-Time/Exempt Location: Community Hospital Responsibilities: Leadership and Supervision: Assist the Department Leader in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing unit or department. Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of care. Staff Management: Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and orientation of new nursing staff. Provide ongoing supervision, coaching, and performance feedback to nursing personnel. Help foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Workflow Management: Coordinate and monitor patient care activities to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient outcomes. Assist in developing and implementing nursing care plans, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives. Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication among interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and support staff. Foster collaboration, teamwork, and positive relationships to enhance patient care delivery. Patient Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their rights are respected, their needs are met, and their concerns are addressed. Promote a patient-centered care approach and actively participate in resolving patient and family complaints or grievances. Policy and Procedure Compliance: Ensure adherence to organizational policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements. Stay updated with the latest evidence-based practices, professional guidelines, and industry trends to promote safe and effective nursing care. Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement: Assist in monitoring and evaluating nursing care outcomes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing quality improvement initiatives. Collect and analyze data, participate in audits, and contribute to the achievement of departmental performance goals. Education and Training: Support the professional development and ongoing education of nursing staff. Assist in organizing and facilitating training programs, workshops, and continuing education opportunities to enhance staff competencies.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is typically required.
  • A valid registered nurse (RN) license is mandatory.
  • Previous experience as a registered nurse is essential, preferably in a related specialty or area of practice.
  • Must relocate to Grand Junction, CO 81505

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred.
  • Additional experience in a leadership or supervisory role is advantageous.
